This is Horizon's vinyl kit of Michael
Keaton as Batman in the Batman Returns movie. (You can tell the
difference between the Batman and Batman Returns costumes by the
shape of the bat-symbol on his chest
-- there's a slight difference between the
two movies.) The base is a Sci Fi Base from Night Life Productions, which
happened to fit the model's stance exactly.
This is only the second vinyl model I've
built, so I'm still getting used to working with it. I had to use a blow dryer
to heat up the cape to bend it and get it to fit around the shoulders. Other
than that, the fit was good and everything went together nicely. To add weight
to the model, I filled the legs with Plaster of Paris. And guess what
-- no
putty or sanding needed!
I like the way this one turned out. It's a
very realistic model to start with, and I recently purchased a head-mounted
magnifier, which made it a whole lot easier to paint (and see!) the fine
details. I also recently switched to Americana acrylics for skin tones, which I
like better than my previous flesh-colored paints. The result
-- one very
life-like Batman!
