Brad Brock (baritone, solo on "Shenandoah") is a junior at Butler University, where he is majoring in music.

Joe Brown (tenor, solo on "The Water is Wide") holds a BM from DePauw University. He has performed commercial jingles, operas, and musicals on the East Coast, Florida, and Indiana. Joe currently sings with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir and a variety of other musical groups throughout the central Indiana region.

Phyllis Fulford (alto, solo on "I Ain't Got Nobody")

Stephanie Mitchell (soprano) is a senior at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, and hopes to pursue a professional singing career.

Mary Moss (solo on "Amazing Grace") is a respected member of the central Indiana jazz scene, having performed with a number of different groups and musicians over the past several decades. In 2002 Mary was inducted into the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation Hall of Fame; she currently performs with other local musicians in the group Mary Moss & Women Kickin' It.

Dr. Mitzi Westra (mezzo-soprano, solo on "Below in the Valley") is an active soloist and chamber musician who currently teaches voice and music theory at both the University of Indianapolis and Wabash College in Indiana. She sings with several chamber ensembles in the Indianapolis area, and spends her summers performing with the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, a professional choral group in New Mexico.

 

Instrumental Credits

William Barnhardt (electric and acoustic bass) began his studies on bass at nine. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Music from Butler University, and currently performs in several jazz, classical, and rock groups in the central Indiana area.

Ken Fary (jazz and gospel piano) is a highly respected jazz musician and teacher in the Indianapolis area. He performs both solo and with various local jazz groups.

Phyllis Fulford (piano and synthesizers)

Doug Henthorn (acoustic and electric guitars) got his first guitar at age 11; his first teacher was one of the authors of this book, Phyllis Fulford. Doug is a classically trained musician with a degree from Butler University, and is currently guitarist and vocalist with the group Healing Sixes. Their CD, Enormosound, is available from CoraZong Records in Canada and Europe.
