Superman Bust

This is a nice little solid-resin bust of the George Reeves Superman from the Adventures of Superman television show, sculpted by Ed White of Diceman Creations. I tried to paint this one as realistically as possible, using a mixture of black and brown for his hair, and brown eyes (just like George had in real life). I used a fairly bright blue for the costume, but with a darker red for the cape and chest emblem. I also used a very light yellow for the chest emblem, rather than the brighter yellow you see in the comic books.

This was a very clean cast, very little clean up needed. My only issue is the sculpt itself. It's a fairly realistic sculpt, but it's off just a tad. Specifically, the face isn't quite symmetrical, one side of his face actually droops a bit. This has the effect of making Supes look a little cross-eyed when you stare at him straight-on. It's okay from an angle, but somewhat disconcerting from the full-face view.

That said, this is a very nice-looking bust. I'm a big fan of the George Reeves Superman, so I'm glad to have this one in my collection.
